Job Posting for: Circle of Care Program Clinic Prep Worker Part time

The Southern Ontario Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative is seeking a well organized, interpersonal self-motivated person with demonstrated knowledge and background in diabetes and foot care. The position is to assist the SOADI Circle of Care Team in organizing and maintaining the SOADI Foot Care Clinics. This position will be part of a network of Aboriginal diabetes support services for Southern Ontario.

Position Summary: It will be the responsibility of the Circle of Care Program Clinic Prep Worker to work closely alongside the SOADI Circle of Care Program Team and aid in Pre and Post Clinic duties and inventory.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Assist in organizing SOADI Foot Care Clinics throughout Northern Ontario.
  • Pre and Post Clinic Equipment/Resource Organization, and Maintenance.
  • Tracking and maintaining up to date inventory of Foot Care Resources and Equipment
  • Assist in preparing and shipping resource orders for Northern Ontario
  • Ensuring low stock is reported to SOADI Foot Care Team in a timely fashion
  • Performing administrative duties, such as; answering phone, taking and relaying messages, filing, photocopying, along with organizing and packaging mail out items.
  • Assist in data entry of information from outreach and events
  • Must be able to lift and transport large display boards and resources
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities designated by the Circle of Care Coordinator 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years + experience in administrative duties
  • Established and proven record as a dependable and competent person
  • Working knowledge of office technology, using a laptop computer for word processing and communications
  • Working knowledge of data entry, database software and statistics
  • Knowledge of Indigenous organizations
  • Co-operative, conscientious, and reliable, with strong skills in planning and work organization
  • Knowledge of, or background in Indigenous health, diabetes and foot care an asset
  • Able to travel and have a valid drivers’ license
  • Must be able to lift and transport large display boards and resources

Employment Period/Status: When position is filled and continue contract till March 31 2017

Supervision: The Circle of Care Clinic Prep Worker will be under the supervision of, and report directly to the Circle of Care Coordinator, PD/ED
