FOOT CARE COORDINATOR SOUTH
Position Summary
The Foot Care Coordinator South is responsible for implementing foot care events in Southern Ontario. The Coordinator will network with program staff, IDHC departments, service providers, community partners, and relevant stakeholders for the provision of the program’s services.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Approve and process service requests according to program policies
- Collaborate with all key players while planning and during all events and clinics
- Process, register and update service provider’s files
- Work closely with Circle of Care Coordinator to ensure fiscal work plan is complete
- Attend large guest speaking events, conferences and forums in relation to diabetes and foot care when needed
- Attend outreach events when required to ensure program protocols, priorities and privacy procedures are followed by staff, host, contract workers and all stake holders involved. Assist in the planning and preparation of events when required, while being able to lift and transport large display boards and resources
- Oversee and monitor budget and administrative duties in an orderly manner to ensure program adherence to patient confidentiality
- Monitor program staff to ensure the program’s policies and criteria are followed when providing services
- Supervise Circle of Care staff in southern office working closely with Circle of Care Coordinator
- Conduct staff performance reviews
- Maintain contacts, calendars, time sheets, expense claims and database of information in order to supply reports at regular intervals
- Provide quarterly reports to Circle of Care Coordinator
- Represent IDHC at all functions in a professional manner and with respect to our mandate, mission statement and values
- Report to Circle of Care Coordinator any concerns as well as success stories
- Perform other duties and responsibilities that may be designated by the Executive Director
Qualifications:
- University/College Degree and/or 2+ years’ relevant work experience
- Established and proven record as a dependable and competent person
- Working knowledge of office technology, using a laptop computer for word processing and communications
- Managerial experience
- Experience and expertise with public speaking, presentations skills and workshop facilitation
- General knowledge of “financial accountability” and ability to work within a budget
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of Indigenous organizations across Ontario
- Knowledge of, or background in Indigenous health, diabetes and foot care an asset
- Knowledge of Indigenous communities and culture; language considered an asset
- Co-operative, conscientious, and reliable, with strong skills in planning and work organization
- Able to travel and have a valid drivers’ license
- Must be able to lift and transport large display boards and resources

Employment Period/Status: To begin immediately – March 31st, 2018 contract position
Supervision: The Southern Foot Care Coordinator will be under the supervision of Circle of Care Coordinator and the ED/PD.
